Walter Gropius, founder of the Bauhaus, built this house for his family in 1938 after coming to teach at Harvard.
It combined modernist ideas with New England materials like clapboard, brick and fieldstone, and furniture made at the Bauhaus workshops.
His daughter Ati grew up here. It is now owned by Historic New England.
