On August 4, 1892, Andrew and Abby Borden were killed with a hatchet in this house in Fall River. Andrew's daughter Lizzie was tried and acquitted in 1893.
No one else was ever charged. Lizzie bought a larger house across town and lived there until 1927.
The Second Street house is now a museum and bed-and-breakfast.
