Frank Lloyd Wright finished the Robie House in 1910 for Frederick C. Robie, a young businessman in the bicycle and motorcar trade.
Its long cantilevered roofs and horizontal bricks made it the defining Prairie School house. The Robies sold it just fourteen months after moving in.
The house was threatened with demolition twice and is now part of a UNESCO World Heritage listing.
